For our guests from Abroad

Thank you for making the trip to the United States. To save you as much research as possible, I’ve prepared something for you.

Documents to enter the USA

Before you can enter the country, you’ll need a valid passport. It must be valid for at least six more months from your date of entry. You’ll also need to apply for an ESTA – this is the travel authorization required for entering the United States under the Visa Waiver Program.

Your ESTA is valid for two years and is usually approved within 24 hours. When completing the application, you’ll be asked to provide the following information:

You’ll need to provide a reason for your trip: Wedding of a Family Member

You’ll also need to list a contact person in the United States: Theresa Lowther & Kevin Lowther

You may be asked to provide an address during your stay:
58 County Road, Barrington, Rhode Island 02806

And my phone number (for contact purposes):
+1 (401) 255-5516

Please make sure to keep this information easily accessible — you may need to show it again when entering the United States at the airport.

Flights

You must already have a return flight booked when entering the United States — otherwise, you may not be allowed to enter the country.

Our closest airport is T. F. Green Airport in Providence. However, this airport is only reachable through domestic flights. If you’re already traveling within the U.S. before the wedding, the easiest way to get here is to fly or take the train to Providence. Both the Providence Airport and the Providence Train Station are about 20 minutes from Barrington.

If you’re traveling directly from abroad, you’ll need to fly into Boston, MA. From there, it’s approximately a one-hour drive to Barrington.

Arrival in Barrington - what now?

Before or after the wedding, there’s plenty to do in the area besides relaxing at the beach. For example, we live just a few minutes away from three local breweries and a sailing school — perfect for anyone who wants to explore a bit more of Rhode Island’s charm!
